Here’s a bit of good news for you! The Secretary of the Treasury announced that Tax Day has been moved from April 15th to July 15th as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Individuals and corporations now have until July 15th to file and pay your taxes.
- Individuals: Income tax payment deadlines for individual returns are being automatically extended until July 15, 2020, for up to $1 million of their 2019 tax due. This payment relief applies to all individual returns, including self-employed individuals, and all entities other than C-Corporations, such as trusts or estates.
- Corporations: For C Corporations, income tax payment deadlines are being automatically extended until July 15, 2020, for up to $10 million of their 2019 tax due.
The IRS will automatically provide this relief to taxpayers – there is no need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify for this relief. You can find more details on the IRS website here.
