Have you seen these lockers at your local Costco warehouse?
Select Costco locations are now offering lockers like these to allow customers the option to pick up their online purchases inside a Costco location.
Many customers have traditionally been reluctant to have small, high-value goods like jewelry, luxury handbags, and electronics shipped to their homes for fear that they will be stolen from their doorstep. So these lockers are intended to eliminate that issue.
The Costco lockers are reminiscent of Amazon’s vast network of lockers, which also allow customers to pick up non-perishable products at neighborhood locations like convenience stores and Whole Foods Markets.
In addition to joining Amazon in the fight against porch pirates, Costco has also been considering making available other e-commerce options popular with Amazon, like auto-replenishment for packaged goods.
