Heads up!
Starting April 2nd, passport fees will be going up! The U.S. State Department says it is increasing the passport execution fee from $25 to $35 to better cover the costs of processing passport applications.
With this change, adult passport books will cost $145 (instead of $135) and books for children 16 and younger will cost $115 (instead of $105). However, individuals who apply for a passport renewal by mail will not see a fee increase.
The less expensive passport cards, which are good for border crossings and sea ports-of-entry from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean but are not valid for international air travel, will increase to $65 for adults (instead of $55) and $50 for children (instead of $40).
