Amazon is Suspending Shipments of Non-Essential Products

The links in the post below may contain affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

With social distancing in place and grocery stores running out of supplies, Amazon is seeing an increase in online shopping. As a result, some products such as household staples and medical supplies are out of stock.

With this in mind, Amazon just announced that they are temporarily prioritizing household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products coming into their fulfillment centers so that they can more quickly receive, restock, and deliver these products to their customers.

They also announced that through April 5th, Amazon will temporarily disable shipment of other products that don’t fall into this category. Don’t worry – if you have a shipment that was created before March 17th and it is already on its way, you will still receive it.

Looking for more work? Amazon also announced plans to hire 100,000 additional warehouse and delivery workers to help handle the increase in online orders. The company also plans to raise the pay for its current workers by $2 an hour through the end of April. Read more about it here.
